The physical and mechanical properties of rubber and plastic parts of seals may change during storage. These changes are caused by a combination of oxygen, ozone, sunlight, high temperatures, ultraviolet light, temperature, dust and unsuitable chemicals. If the seal is stored in a good environment, the quality of the rubber and plastic parts of the seal will remain unchanged.

1. Environment, temperature and temperature

The best temperature to store seals is 5~25℃, and the humidity is not higher than 60%, although the low temperature will not change the physical and technical characteristics of the seals, we still recommend that the seals should be stored at 20~25℃ for a period of time before installation. In addition, it is recommended to store seals away from heat sources, such as thermometers, cooling plates, heaters, etc.

2, dust

Dust may affect the mechanical properties of the product, so dust should be completely removed before installing seals;

3, light, ultraviolet

It is recommended to store or pack rubber or plastic seals in opaque boxes or bags, and cover the Windows of the room where the seals are stored with red or orange to protect the seals from direct sunlight, strong light, ultraviolet light and fluorescent lamps.

4. Oxygen and ozone

Oxygen and ozone in the air are oxidizing agents, so use synthetic resin bags and sealed boxes to store seals. Storage of seals in the room, can not be installed high-voltage instruments, electric engines and other ozone products, because ozone damage to rubber or plastic seals is particularly serious.

5, deformation

In order to avoid deformation of seals, rubber and plastic seals should not be stored in a state of tension or load bearing. Tensile force will accelerate the change of mechanical properties of seals and accelerate aging phenomenon.

6. Contact with solution or oil agent

It is advisable not to store seals in other solutions, oils or any semisolid substances without consulting the supplier's engineers.

7. Contact with metal

Certain metals, such as manganese and copper, can cause damage to different types of rubber, so rubber and plastic seals should not be stored in contact with those metals or alloys.
